Crest Boxes

Crest boxes are randomly dropped by monsters during hunting.

Monsters will only drop boxes around their level (i.e. a level 140 monster will not drop a level 80 box).

You can also buy crest boxes from the market / CowardEye.

The colour of the crest box will be the same as the colour of the crest card you obtain from the box.

In KGO:
Right click a crest box to obtain a crest card.

In SSO:
Open the crest box at NPC Chaste Hall Clothing Merchant.

Crest Types and Stats

Crests are items that can increase your character's base stats. You can only equip a crest if your character is the same level or higher than the crest's level. Different crests will have one or a combination of these stats:

- PATK/MATK

- Defense

- HP/MP

- STR/DEX/INT/CON

Stats obtained are completely random. There is nothing you can do to increase the chances of opening a crest with good stats.

However, once you have obtained a crest with relatively good stats, you can then proceed to compound your crest. (Some people choose to sell a crest with good stats for a high amount of gold instead)

Crest Upgrading & Crest Upgrade Tools

In KGO:
simply right-click on the crest to upgrade it. There will be a small gold fee to upgrade the crest.

Alternatively, you can buy a Crest Upgrade Tool (고급강화도구) from the cash shop with a 100% upgrade success rate.

After you have finished upgrading your crest, equip the crest by left-clicking on the crest, drag and drop it at the "문장" slot at your character's equipment. (At this stage, you have only equipped the crest, however the crest's stats are still not yet applied to your character's stats. More info below.)

※ To change your crest, simply drag and drop a new crest to the "문장" slot. A message will pop up asking if you want to replace the old crest. However, do take note that if you replace a crest, it is not possible to get back the old crest.

In SSO:

Buy a crest upgrade tool from the Chaste Hall Clothing Merchant. Take note of the colour of the upgrade tool (Red Upgrade Tool can only be used for red crests, Blue Upgrade Tool for blue crests and so on).

※ Upgrade tools from the Clothing Merchant have a high chance of failure.

To activate your crest:

You will need to have a Spirit Card in order to activate and use the stats from your crest. The chart below shows the total % of stats that will be activated for your crest for each Spirit Card.

In KGO:
Right-click to use the Spirit Card and apply it's effects.

In SSO:

Bring a Spirit Card to NPC Chaste Hall Clothing Merchant.

Click on [Crest Card Exchange]. Exchange the Spirit Card for a Crest Card.

Right-click to apply the crest card effects.

※ All Spirit Cards/Crest Cards last for 7 days. You can use multiple crest cards at one time and it will simply extend the duration of your crest. Your crest will not expire.

How to obtain crest cards

Wooden - Chaste Hall Book Merchant

Blue - Yangak

Silver - Received as a bonus gift when purchase of cash item is made

Gold - Cash shop

White - Anniversary Pouch / Yangak

Black - Anniversary Pouch
