White Mage (Fan) Skill Build

White Mage (Fan) is a Job that I have the most knowledge about compared to any other jobs. This was a highly requested guide so please read on if you're interested in White Mage (Fan) Skill and Stat builds :)

As every player is different, the best skill builds and combos for me do not necessarily mean the same for you. Please feel free to add or remove any additional skills you would be more comfortable with. However, these are definitely the best skill builds I have tried and tested over the years that I personally find the most efficient for training through Level 1-180.

The main stat for Mage is INT, secondary stats are DEX and CON.


My training style:

I like fast and efficient skills that can be used while jumping. For combo sets, I prefer them to have as minimal delay as possible between each repeated combo set.

I don't like skills that have a slight delay unless I have no choice but to add it in to compromise for the delay of other skills in the combo. These include:

  • TripleBlast (폭열공 - 1st Job)
  • CollisionAmulet (백룡공파 - 2nd Job)
  • BillowingPhoenix (봉황팔장 - 2nd Job)
  • FrostStroke (빙차사폭 - 3rd Job)

I will explain my reasons for not adding certain skills to combos and why I arranged the combos as such for 2nd, 3rd and 4th Job.

Full INT or Full DEX?

One question i get asked quite often is whether a full INT or full DEX build is better after Transcend/3rd Job. I have tested both builds in SSO and to be honest the damage is about the same for PVE. In Yangak, full DEX build gives a lower overall score as compared to full INT build. For PVP, a full DEX build will give you extremely unstable damage which is definitely not good in my opinion. Keep in mind that full DEX build will also affect your maximum MP and this defeats the purpose of adding the skill GhostShield (귀마신공).

So my advice is: Always go for a full INT build and change up your DEX (critical) stats with your Weapons, Armor and Accessories as it allows you to be more flexible with your stats should you decide to change between PVE/PVP.

2nd Job Skill Build

※ Add Critical Passive Buff (상기헐) and Teleport (시공환) last if not enough skill points.

※ Before 3rd Job, Amulet skill (백룡공파) is good to max for PVP.



2nd Job PVE Combo:


Arranged according to damage first then target limits to achieve the highest DPS.

Stun - Blind - Freeze - Knockback, this combo arrangement will allow the monsters to have the least movement so as to minimise contact with your character (lesser damage taken during training).

This combo is also arranged according to cooldown timing, so there is no delay between each combo set.




2nd Job Stat Build:

Before Transcend (환골탈태 전)

+30 CON (근력), the rest INT (지력)

After Transcend (환골탈태 후)

FULL INT (지력)

Accessories:

Before Transcend (환골탈태 전)

Earring: Ghost Trader Earrings (흉도귀걸이)

Ring: CON (근력) ring

※ If you're short on gold, use this ring instead:
Level 40 - 
DEX 2 / MATK 45 (마령반지 Fiend Ring)


After Transcend (환골탈태 후)

Earring: 40 INT (지력) / 40 DEX (활력) 

 Ring (PVE): 16-20 INT (지력) / DEX (활력), evasion rate 8-16

Bracelet: 110 Bracelet (천음사목주), +5% Critical

※ Use a CON (근력) ring if your armor does not provide enough defence for PVE.

3rd Job Skill Build

3rd Job PVE Combo:

Bracelet: 140 Bracelet (암살팔찌), +7% Critical

4th Job Skill Build

※ Amaurosis/Blind Skill (광흑시안) is optional to add, you can leave it at 1/20.

※ Defence Passive (금강의술) and Damage Reduction (태화비술1식) Passive Skills cannot be maxed yet as of now. However, they should be maxed when the level cap 185 is updated.



4th Job PVE Combo:




The cooldown of 4th Job Skill (낙운파) is very long (11 seconds) and will affect the efficiency of your entire Main Skill Combo. My suggestion is to separate 4th job skill and any filler skills to other keys that are away from your Main Combo keys (I put my 4th Job Skill on the Shift key). The first skill to cast before your Main Combo is of course still your 4th Job Skill.





※ No Stat Reset after 4th Job, only Skill Reset. ※

Earring: 525 MATK 무황귀걸이(마공)
(Preferably with INT/DEX/CON stats)

 Ring (PVE): 30-35 DEX (활력), 42 MATK, evasion rate 8-16

Bracelet: 160 Bracelet (거목팔찌), +9% Critical
